Quinlan Donates $50,000 to Canadian Red Cross for Wildfire Relief
Bay de Verde, NL – August 26, 2025 – Quinlan today announced a $50,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross in support of communities devastated by the recent wildfires in Newfoundland and Labrador.
For Quinlan, this cause resonates deeply. In 2016, the company’s Bay de Verde processing plant was destroyed by fire, a loss that left an indelible mark on the organization and the community. Having lived through the devastation of fire, Quinlan understands firsthand the emotional, financial, and social toll it can have on people, families, and entire regions.
“This is our home. These are our communities. We know what fire can take away and the long road it takes to rebuild,” said Robin Quinlan, President. “Supporting the Red Cross is one way we can help our neighbours as they begin that process. We encourage other businesses in the province to step up and do what they can. Together, we can make a greater impact.”
Thanks to both provincial and federal governments matching donations dollar-for-dollar, Quinlan’s $50,000 contribution will yield $150,000 in direct support for wildfire recovery.
Quinlan also commended the leadership and swift action of first responders, volunteers, as well as the Red Cross and others, whose efforts are providing much-needed relief to those affected.
“We know the strength and resilience of Newfoundland and Labrador communities,” added Robin Quinlan, “It’s in moments like these that we need to come together and support each other. That’s the spirit of this province, and we’re proud to play a role in it.”
